A Knight's Tale (2001)

A Knight's Tale is one of my favourite films - it's the exciting and romantic tale of William Thatcher (Heath Ledger), a young peasant squire who wishes to 'change his stars' by becoming a knight and learning, somewhat humourously, to joust, enabling him to take part in several tournaments leading up to the world championship and, if he can, beat the unscrupulous Count Adhemar and, best of all, win the girl!

The soundtrack to A Knight's Tale is also brilliant - my favourite song being 'Golden Years' by David Bowie, as it reminds me of part of the film where Heath Ledger and Shannyn Sossamon dance a fantastic medieval/modern dance routine (see below); it also includes Queen's 'We Will Rock You', and Thin Lizzy's 'The Boys are Back in Town.
